last night, as i was sleeping, I dreamt of a large farm in my neighborhood. Marvelous error!
I found it right in between montgomery and hutchinson streets south of hardee & north of hosea,
on a big plot of land that used to be an "affordable housing" project.

It had the sense about it of not being completely square in shape; in fact, it looked like it had run down like a river from a big building of some elevation to the north, in the Hutchinson block south of LaFrance.
The farm was a radiant place, open to a wide expanse of sunset light. I could tell by the waning light falling on my neighbors' crops that it would be a serene, sleepy scene to sit on a park bench and wait for a bus after dark, or to run into a friend while walking one's dog beneath the streetlights at dusk.
i looked over the rows of crops to see a hearth in the center of the farm where a few people were gathered, and the sound of their conversation and laughter in the distance made me feel instantly at ease about the future of food.
